Triathlon Coach College Station, TX

I have been a triathlete since 2007. I became a triathlete because I pretty much had to find a way to do endurance sports without so much running. Prior to that I had been a long time half marathoner and marathoner, racing almost every weekend. I remember we were stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and I raced some of the most beautiful half marathons in the country to include America's Finest City, and the La Jolla Half Marathon which had the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. After I had my second baby my hips, lower back, and hamstrings just didn't feel the same as I eased back into running. Soon I had my first ever stress fracture and this cut me out of the Marine Corps Marathon. My upper hamstring at the insertion was inflamed and tight so that further deterred me from running. By the time we got to our next duty station at Parris Island, SC, I could barely walk and had to do something! So I convinced my husband I needed a road bike. I met a Category II rider and his wife who was a triathlete while out riding one day, and well, the rest is history. From there my hamstring slowly started to heel and I found that cross training was good for me. I was in the pool now and putting less stress on my legs, hips, knees, etc.

Since then I have done about 35 races, mostly Sprint Distance, and have placed or won in almost all of them. The highlight of my racing career was last August when I competed in the USA Triathlon National Championship in Omaha NE. I became a Certified Level I Coach in April of 2016 in hopes of giving back to the sport and helping other athletes. I am not a long course athlete and at this stage of the game I doubt I ever will be, I know there are a lot of folks out there who want to try a Sprint or Olympic Distance Triathlon, or step up there game for their next race. I have experience writing triathlon, half marathon, and marathon plans which are all available on this site. If you want to coach with me for a few months to get ready for your next race then I can do that with you too!! I am looking forward to this year's racing season and can't wait to help some athletes be their best!
